Ugandan journalist killed in Kampala blasts

APA-Kampala (Uganda) A Ugandan broadcast journalist, Stephen Tinka, has been confirmed among those killed in Sunday night blasts that rocked Kampala city during the screening of the World Cup final match.
The Uganda Journalist Union (UJU) on Monday issued a statement condemning the July 11, 2010 Bomb attacks at both Kabalagala Ethiopia Village and Kyadondo Rugby grounds, which left over 70 people dead, including Vision Voice presenter Stephen Tinka.
Tinka, who had a night programme and has been presenting a Saturday morning magazine show from 7-10am died on Monday morning, after spending the night in a critical condition.
Also members of the corporate company including bankers and insurers lost their workmates in the explosion, which occurred 3 minutes before the end of the game.
“We put all our support towards the security, and support government in an effort of weeding out such barbaric acts and make the country a worthy place to live,” UJU said.
