Programmes

The International News Safety Institute has developed a regional working programme to help create a culture of safety in journalism and reduce the risks to media staff in the exercise of their professional activities.

To get more familiar with INSI programmes, see also our objectives and a summary of our achievements.

Safety Training

INSI has provided safety training free of charge for hundreds of journalists in Iraq, Africa, Latin America, Asia and other hotspots in a continuing programme. We are the only organisation doing this in a sustained way.
To date, INSI has trained 1,595 media staff in 21 countries.Safety training

This follows an INSI-led initiative by major news organisations concerned over the mounting death toll of news media staff on the modern battlefield. media military relations
