The former spokesman for the Tajik Migration Service's office in Russia, Bakhtiyor Sattori, was admitted to hospital with dozens of knife wounds inflicted by unknown people.
Representatives of the Tajik diaspora in Moscow say that Bakhtiyor Sattori was admitted to hospital No 7 in Moscow Region's Kolomenskiy District and underwent a surgery this morning. Doctors say that state of his health is very serious.
Sattori left the flat, in which he was living temporarily, at about 2300 [Moscow time, 1900 gmt] yesterday to buy cigarettes and was attacked by unknown people.
The reasons and motives behind the attack on Sattori remain unknown.
We recall that Tajik journalist Bakhtiyor Sattori earlier worked for the Tajik embassy in Moscow and then worked as a spokesman for the Tajik Migration Service's office in Russia. He was relieved of his post in July last year.
