Soldiers attack Yemeni journalist in Sana'a

Soldiers of Shomaiah police station attacked on Saturday a Yemeni journalist, Jabar Sabir, while he was covering a protest in Sana'a.

In a statement, Sabir affirmed that the soldiers attacked him and confiscated his cameras and other possessions, pointing out that he was seized for hours.

The Yemeni Journalist Syndicate condemned the attack, asking the Interior Ministry to punish the soldiers, expressing sorrow about continuation of attacks against Yemeni journalists.

Security forces killed one protester in Sana'a and wounded six others on Saturday as they used live bullets against peaceful protesters who demanded to arrest a killer.

The demonstrators demanded to arrested the killer of a dealer from Wesab district who was killed on Friday in Shomailah Market and the killer managed to escape.

The protesters accused the police director of Shomailah of colluding with the killer and use excessive forces against dozens of peaceful protesters.
